The Incidents page is used to log major behavioral events that often need to be reported to the state. The state provides incident types and corresponding codes that Schoolrunner uploads into each school’s site. Use the "Record Incident" section at the top of the page to log the specifics of an incident. You can specify the role the student(s) played, the length of the assigned consequence, and what type of consequence they received. Consequence types can range from expulsion to a student receiving a time-out.

If an incident record is not adequately completed, there are various warnings and error message that will be displayed to prompt completion, such as when incidents are reported on a single day for one scholar, if there is no consequence selected, if an incident type requires a subtype, or if a particular incident requires a victim.

Below the "Record Incident" section, you can find a summary of incidents. Here, you have the ability to filter records depending on what type of incidents you want to view. You can also click each record to see more details about it, edit it to update or change information, or download a summary as a .csv file.

Filters allow you to view only the types of incidents you’re interested in. Use the slider bars to filter incidents by those that occurred during a specific date range, or those whose consequence matches certain criteria. Drop-down menus allow for refinement by incident type, role played by students involved, and type of consequence assigned. The final three options allow you to filter by incidents with files attached, incidents with violated consequences, and incidents that are active or inactive.

The "Is Violated" option will show you all Incidents, for the time period selected, where any attendance codes that were generated as a result of an incident (like Out of School Suspension, or In School Suspension) have been overridden or deactivated. Some of these may be intentional, but this is a helpful tool for auditing student attendance for accuracy.

Beneath the incident history section is a summary of all the recorded incidents for the time period selected using the filters. This summary lists the number of times each incident type has been logged, and below that, the total number of detentions served as a result of those incidents.
