Upon logging in to the Schoolrunner mobile app for the very first time, you'll see a screen with only an "Add Groups" button. Tap it to select any pre-existing groups you want to keep an eye on – a homeroom, a sports team, a club, etc. A green check mark next to a group means you have saved it.
Click the < icon in the top left to return to the main screen and see your groups listed there. From the main screen, you can tap a group to see the individual students within it. These groups are also listed on your personal menu, accessible either by swiping from the left or by tapping the three-bar menu button in the upper-left.
Your saved groups are easily edited by clicking the three-dot options button in the upper-right.
Searching for Students
From your main menu, it’s easy to search for individual students. Tap the search field and type at least three letters of a student’s name to bring up results.
Once you see the name you’re looking for, there are a few things you can do: tap the name to log a communication, tap the "Behavior" button to record a behavior for your selected student(s) or tap the star next to the name to save that student to your list of starred students.
Much like saved groups, starred students are those students you would like to keep an eye on, specifically for communication purposes. From your main menu, select "Starred" to see your current list of highlighted scholars. Tapping on an individual lets you see his or her contact information, and also allows you to de-star him or her. If you record a communication for one of your starred students, s/he will be removed from your list. To clear all of your starred students at once, tap the options button at upper right.
